A notarized translation is a certified translation whose certificate of accuracy has been signed in front of a notary public. The notary checks who signed it and adds their own notarial certificate, signature and seal. The notary does not check the translation itself — that is what the certification is for. USCIS does not ask for notarization: a certified translation is enough for green card, visa and citizenship filings. But some US offices do want the extra step, for example certain state courts, county clerks and vital-records offices, DMVs, school districts, universities and adoption agencies. If one of them has asked you for a notarized translation, add US notarization when you order: we translate and certify your document, and our New Jersey notary public notarizes it remotely. You receive the finished, notarized PDF within 1 day, translation included. Only valid for use in the United States — it is not accepted as notarization in the UK or any other country.
